Peepholes

Peepholes is a group of 10 artists from 7 different European countries. The Group was founded when 6 of us attended the Lapplands Art's Colony in Arvidsjaur in Sweden in 1998. This meeting inspired us to keep in touch and continue our artistic co-operation. The last day some of us passed an old hose with one round small window - a peephole. This came to be the opening of the project.

We are all women and the group members are:

Gisela Alt  - Germany
Susanne Demåne - Sweden
Irina Novokrescionova - Litauen
Birgitta Nyström - Sweden
Carola Boman - Sweden
Marie Bondeson - Sweden
Hanne Houlberg - Denmark
Hilda Kozari - Finland
Ingela Birkeland- Norway
Juliana Capes - Scotland

Our first mutual project was an exhibition in Karlskrona, Sweden, at the Sea Fortress Godnatt, in the sea just outside the town - Peepholes on Godnatt - in july 2000. This was a cultural project in co-operation with the project "Women vision" in Blekinge. After an inspection of the Fortress in februar,  we all worked on the project in our studios. Most of us had never been in a Fortress before. It was an interesting and multi-faced exhibition.

Our second project was in Karlstad, Sweden, the exibition "Boxes" - in autumn 2000.The frame conditions for this exhibition was that we all should work within a box of 30 x 30 x 30 cm. It would be sendt, opened and exhibited in its intirety.

Our third project was the exhibition " Desire", at Vingen Kulturhus, Torslanda, Gothenburg, Sweden in november 2007. 9 of us partcipated.
